Cyndy D. Morin practices both regional and international Family Law exclusively and is the founder of Resolve Legal Group.

Cyndy began her academic training in the University of Calgary transfer program at (then known as) Mount Royal College, and subsequently completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with Distinction at the University of Calgary. Cyndy returned to the University of Calgary where she completed her Law Degree (LLB). In addition to being a litigator, Cyndy is also certified in Mediation, Arbitration and Private Investigation. Prior to her legal career, Cyndy was an experienced counsellor working with families and youth in numerous capacities. It is from this background that Cyndy developed a unique holistic multidisciplinary systems approach to best serve her Family Law clients. This approach uses the principles developed out of the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative’s research on minimizing children’s exposure to toxic stress and maximizing children’s healthy brain development. Cyndy was recognized for her legal contributions by receiving the prestigious MRU Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award for 2017.
Cyndy is a board member with the Calgary Homeless Foundation and the Big Hill Haven Women’s Shelter in Cochrane. Cyndy sits on the Access to Justice Committee of the Canadian Bar Association; and is a voting council member for the Canadian Bar Association for the 2016-2018 term. Cyndy is also an active member in the International Association of Family Conciliation Courts; the Reforming the Family Justice System Initiative for the Province of Alberta; and she represents Resolve Legal Group in the collaborative policy development for small firms under the Law Society of Alberta’s Justicia Project, which develops firm policies to ensure equality within the workplace.
Cyndy has been a volunteer with the Calgary Youth Justice Society for over 20 years, and she is currently Co-Chair for the Crowfoot/University Youth Justice Committees. Cyndy has also been a long-term volunteer with the Volunteer Lawyers’ Service; and she is a volunteer mentor to Law School Students in the Student Legal Assistance Program at the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary and a previous mentor with the MRU Harry G. Schaefer Mentorship Program.
Cyndy is the creator of “Kids In Mind” in collaboration with the Calgary Counselling Centre, which is a Provincially run study of a new interdisciplinary triaged arbitration process for Families struggling with High Conflict Custody matters.
Cyndy, in conjunction with the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, has also created the annual ‘Wills Weeks’ fundraiser which helps Wills & Estates law students to have a practical learning experience with drafting free Wills for Veterans and ‘by donation to the Calgary Counselling Centre” Wills for the general public. The students draft these Wills under the supervision of senior lawyers from various firms throughout Calgary and recruited by Cyndy for this project.
Cyndy is the founder and volunteer of an access to Justice initiative called “Just Air” and she also volunteers her time teaching High Conflict Parenting After Separation Seminars at the Calgary Courts Centre. Cyndy also teaches Family Law courses through a joint initiative between Chinook College and the Alberta Law Foundation. Cyndy regularly trains law school graduates and articling students to become compassionate family lawyers, and she even trains experienced lawyers throughout Alberta through the Legal Education Society of Alberta, on methods to better address clients’ needs through a multidisciplinary approach. Cyndy also volunteer teaches legal seminars to fundraise for both the Calgary Counselling Centre, and she volunteers her time fundraising for the Cochrane Boys and Girls Club and the soon to be built Big Hill Haven Woman’s Shelter in Cochrane as well.
Cyndy is a regular event speaker at the annual Sagesse fundraiser which supports individuals of any gender experiencing domestic violence, and she is also one of speakers at “Resilience - Calgary” the annual Divorce Symposium in Calgary and an occasional speaker at “Resilience – Edmonton” the annual Divorce Symposium in Edmonton. She is also a regular speaker at the Womanition “Biz Brigade” which is a conference to support women entrepreneurs. Cyndy also writes monthly articles on law and business for the Better Business Bureau Examiner Newsletter for Southern Alberta and East Kootenays.
When she is not speaking at an event, teaching, volunteering, managing and marketing her firm or practicing law, Cyndy is a single mom to three adult children, a published author, an avid world traveller, a Padi Certified Open Water Diver, a Canadian and U.S. Private Pilot with a Seaplane endorsement and she is an online radio talk show host on Tenacious Living Radio’s “Your Family Matters”.
